Disclaimer
What this site is, what it is not, and how to read it.
Visit Korea Medical is an English-language editorial visitor handbook for international patients planning a medical-tourism trip to Korea. It is not a medical practice, it is not a treating physician, and it is not a substitute for clinical judgement. The disclaimers below set out the limits of what this site is and is not. Where any individual page applies a more specific disclaimer (for example, a treatment-specific page noting platform-specific contraindications), the page-level disclaimer governs.
Not medical advice
Nothing on Visit Korea Medical constitutes medical advice. We summarise treatment platforms, regulatory frameworks, pricing references, and visitor logistics. We do not diagnose, prescribe, or recommend specific treatments for specific patients. All clinical decisions belong with the licensed Korean physician you actually consult. Where a treatment carries known contraindications (autoimmune disease, pregnancy, recent isotretinoin use, anticoagulant therapy, active infection, certain implants), we flag them at platform level — but the determination of whether a contraindication applies to you, in your specific case, is for the treating physician on the day of consultation.
Outcomes vary
Aesthetic and regenerative outcomes are inherently variable. Skin type, age, genetic factors, lifestyle (smoking, sun exposure, diet, sleep), pre-existing conditions, the platform used, the operator's experience, the clinic's protocol, and the post-procedure care regimen all contribute. We do not publish patient testimonials with named outcomes, we do not guarantee specific results, and we caution against any commercial site that does. Patients seeking guaranteed dramatic transformation are likely to be disappointed by any honest practice; patients seeking gradual, evidence-supported improvement are likely to find Korean aesthetic and regenerative practice well-developed.
Currency, pricing, and availability
Pricing references on Visit Korea Medical are gathered from public clinic price lists and refreshed quarterly. Currency conversions (USD, CNY, JPY, EUR) are calculated against published reference rates and are approximate; the actual KRW figure quoted by the clinic is the figure that will be charged. Treatment platform availability changes — clinics add and retire platforms, manufacturers issue generation updates, regulatory positions evolve. Where a piece of information on this site has aged, the page carries a last-revised date. Confirm pricing and availability with the clinic at the point of consultation.
Editorial coverage is not a recommendation
Editorial inclusion in our coverage indicates that our editorial board finds a clinic, platform, or city professionally interesting in the relevant context. It does not constitute a personal recommendation that you, specifically, should choose that clinic, platform, or city. The choice is yours, made in consultation with the treating physician and with whatever additional sources you trust. We name our criteria; we do not impose conclusions.
Frequently asked questions
Can I rely on this site to choose a clinic?
Use the site as a starting point, not a finishing point. We index platforms and cities, name editorial criteria, and flag the clinics our board finds professionally interesting — with documented reasons. The final clinic decision should sit with you and the consulting physician, with whatever additional sources you trust.
What if I have a complication during or after treatment?
Contact the treating clinic immediately. Clinics that cover international patients should provide a coordinator channel — WhatsApp, LINE, or WeChat — for the first 14 days after a procedure. If you cannot reach the clinic and the situation is urgent, present at the nearest hospital emergency department; in Seoul, Severance Hospital, Samsung Medical Center, and Asan Medical Center all have international-patient services.
What if pricing on the site is different from what the clinic quotes?
The clinic's quote is the figure that applies. Our pricing references are quarterly snapshots of public price lists; clinics adjust pricing periodically and may apply package or coordinator-channel pricing that does not match a public price list. Where you spot a meaningful divergence, we are happy to know — email [email protected].
Do you have liability insurance for visitor injury?
No. We are an editorial publisher, not a clinic, hotel, transit operator, or travel agency. Our liability is limited to editorial accuracy. Patient-side travel and medical-tourism insurance is the visitor's responsibility; we recommend a policy that explicitly covers cosmetic and elective procedures in Korea.
